Job Overview
Powder Monkey Tap house Gosport is situated just over the road from the Powder Monkey Brewery.

It provides a sociable, casual atmosphere to enjoy simple comfort food that complements our great beers while offering quick, satisfying favourites for regulars and more refined dishes for guests seeking something a little more special at the weekend

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our small kitchen team on a part time basis. This role involves supporting the existing team in the preparation and cooking of meals in a small kitchen, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality.

The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering, well-presented dishes while maintaining a clean and organised workspace. At least two years catering experience and willingness to work weekends and evenings is essential

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Cook and prepare meals according to specified recipes and standards
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed at all times
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment
Support the team with serving food to customers or guests in a timely manner
Help with general kitchen organisation to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents or contamination
Ensure kitchen safety records are completed accurately

Skills

Two years experience in food preparation and cooking is essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering environment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks within the kitchen environment

Rates of pay vary depending on age (in line with UK minimum wage bands) and level of experience

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
