Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Kitchen Assistant/Chef to join our team at The Buffalo Kitchen & Co. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to creating delicious, high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for supporting food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and assisting with meal service. Your enthusiasm and culinary skills will help deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests and clients. This paid position is ideal for someone passionate about cooking and eager to grow their culinary expertise.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Taking front of house orders
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and proper storage of ingredients
Support the team in meal assembly and presentation to ensure timely service
Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items
Serve meals efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining a friendly attitude towards guests or customers
Collaborate with team members to streamline kitchen operations and improve overall efficiency

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or working in a kitchen environment
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling of ingredients
Strong culinary skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Excellent teamwork, communication, and serving skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
