Full job description

Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Waiting Staff to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and possess a strong understanding of restaurant operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic environment, providing friendly service and ensuring customer satisfaction at all times. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

Greet guests warmly and provide attentive table service throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted and fulfilled
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Assist with setting up tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining a tidy dining area
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times
Handle guest enquiries professionally, offering recommendations and resolving any issues promptly
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required, adhering to safety protocols
Manage guest payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is desirable
Strong knowledge of serving techniques and guest service principles
Understanding of food safety standards and basic food preparation skills
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
Basic maths skills for handling bills and transactions accurately
Familiarity with kitchen operations or culinary experience is a plus
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
Ability to upsell menu items tactfully to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue
A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and working as part of a team
