Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pot Washer/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the overall operation of our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn about food preparation and kitchen procedures. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the culinary and hospitality sectors.

Responsibilities

Responsible for thoroughly washing and sanitising pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff.
Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen work areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Help with setting up and clearing dining areas during service times.
Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately.
Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces, floors, and storage areas within the kitchen environment.
Support the team during busy periods by performing various duties as required to ensure smooth operation.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of restaurant or hotel kitchen operations is advantageous.
Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and safety procedures.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary sector.
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
