Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking operators in light recovery and/or heavy recovery to join our dynamic team. We have main bases in Leicester LE4 and LE67.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of vehicles, ensuring compliance with all transport regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service, along with the ability to operate flatbed vehicles.

We’re looking for 2 shift patterns -

Monday to Friday 14:00 to midnight, plus on call every other Saturday or Sunday

Monday to Friday 18:00 to 04:00am, plus on call every other Sunday.

Responsibilities

Operate flatbed lorries in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
Load and unload vehicles, ensuring proper securing to prevent damage during transit.
Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork as required.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while on the road and at delivery sites.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.

Qualifications

Valid Class 2 (C) Licence or Class 1 (C+E) Licence is essential.
You MUST be able to pass an Enhanced C.R.B check
Proven experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practice
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record is preferred
Previous experience as a commercial driver, preferably with flatbed driving experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members.
