Job Summary

Part-Time Self-Employed Manager / Housekeeper to start in September.

Holiday Cottages in the Eskdale Valley, the Lake District

We are looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on self-employed Manager/Housekeeper to help look after a small collection of holiday cottages in the beautiful Lake District.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys creating a welcoming experience for holiday guests.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running and presentation of the cottages, ensuring they are clean, comfortable and ready for guests.

Responsibilities will include:

Cleaning and preparing cottages between guest stays
Checking that everything is clean, tidy and in good working order
Managing changeover days and ensuring cottages are guest-ready
Reporting and arranging minor maintenance issues where necessary
Checking supplies and arranging/replenishing cleaning and guest essentials
Communicating with guests when required
Overseeing check-ins and check-outs
Coordinating tradespeople or contractors when needed
Maintaining consistently high standards across the properties
Dealing with any occasional issues that arise during guest stays

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable, trustworthy and self-motivated
Organised and able to work independently
Practical and willing to get stuck in
Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
Detail-oriented, with high standards of cleanliness and presentation
Flexible, particularly around weekends and changeover days
Comfortable dealing with guests and resolving problems
Ideally experienced in holiday lets, housekeeping, hospitality or property management

A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Hours, Working Arrangements and Pay

This is a part-time, self-employed position, with hours varying according to bookings and seasonality of the holiday cottage business and guest changeovers.

The role requires flexibility and would suit someone looking for part-time work who is able to provide a reliable service throughout the year.

Location: Eskdale, the Lake District
Employment: Self-employed / contractor
Hours: Part-time, flexible around bookings

Competitive self-employed rate, negotiable depending on experience and suitability for the role.
