Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our supportive nursery family. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality childcare and early childhood education within a nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about working with children, supporting their development and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The Nursery Practitioner will be responsible for implementing engaging activities, rich outdoor experiences, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and working collaboratively with colleagues to promote a welcoming and inclusive setting.

Responsibilities

Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that support children’s developmental needs
Organise rich outdoor experiences with a strong connection to nature.
Supervising children at all times to ensure their safety and wellbeing
Supporting children's social, emotional and physical development through personalised care
Maintaining a clean, organised and stimulating environment conducive to learning
Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues through effective communication
Assisting with the daily routines such as meal times, nap times and toilet training
Monitoring children's progress and providing feedback to parents during meetings or via reports
Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
Contributing to team meetings and ongoing professional development sessions

Qualifications

Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g. Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent) are preferred
Previous experience working within a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to work well with children, showing patience, empathy and enthusiasm
SEN knowledge desirable.
