Full job description

Helmrig is seeking an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Invasive Species Supervisor to join Knotweed Eradication. In this role, you will assist with surveying, monitoring, treatment, and removal of invasive plant species such as Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam, Giant hogweed and other species across a range of sites. The position involves physical outdoor work in varying conditions and environments, ensuring compliance with environmental guidelines and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Organise treatment programmes and coordinate site access arrangements.
Carry out treatment programmes, apply appropriate treatment methods including herbicide application, excavation and mechanical removal, installation of root barriers.
Communicated with customers, ensuring a high standard of customer service is provided.
Apply appropriate treatment methods including herbicide application, excavation and mechanical removal
Operate and maintain equipment safely (e.g. knapsacks, brush cutters)
Record site activity, treatment progress, produce technical reports following excavations
Ensure safe handling, storage and application of herbicide.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and company procedure.
Travel to various locations with occasional overnight stays required

We’re seeking someone with a hands-on, practical mindset and a strong work ethic. You’ll need to be self-motivated, organised and committed to upholding the quality and safety standards Helmrig is known for.

Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Full UK driving licence
Good physical fitness and manual handling capability
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
Good attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
PA1/PA6 NPTC Certificate in Pesticide Application (preferred but not essential)

Desirable Qualifications (not essential, training will be provided)

CSCS Card
Experience in invasive weed control or land remediation
SSSTS (preferred but not essential)

Working Hours: 45 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1-hour break)

Pay: £36,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
