Located in the heart of the postcard village of Croston, Out Lane Social is an independently owned restaurant that has proudly featured in the The Good Food Guide for the past two years. We are passionate about exceptional food, outstanding hospitality, and building genuine relationships with both our guests and our suppliers.

From artisan butchers and all-British cheeses, to fantastic wines and locally roasted coffee, we work with an incredible network of producers and are now launching an exciting new concept: Out Lane @ Home.

This is not simply retail. It is a highly personal, relationship-led experience where our customers can bring the quality and personality of Out Lane Social into their homes through curated produce orders, meal kits, wine pairings, seasonal recommendations, and bespoke weekly deliveries.

We are now looking for a passionate, creative, and commercially minded Retail Manager to lead and grow this exciting new side of the business.

The Role

As our Retail Manager, you will become the face of Out Lane @ Home.

You will build long-term relationships with local customers, understand their tastes and lifestyles, and help curate personalised weekly produce selections and deliveries. This could involve meeting customers at the restaurant over a coffee, discussing what they enjoy cooking at home, recommending wines or cheeses, or arranging bespoke seasonal produce boxes.

You will work closely with our Head Chef, suppliers, and media team to create exciting retail offerings that genuinely stand out, from recipe kits and supper experiences, to seasonal hampers, wine pairings, and chef-inspired home dining concepts.

This role blends hospitality, food retail, relationship management, creativity, marketing, and business development into one unique opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow the Out Lane @ Home retail offering
Build strong, lasting relationships with local customers
Curate personalised weekly produce and delivery orders
Work closely with the Head Chef to create seasonal retail concepts and meal kits
Collaborate with artisan suppliers to source exceptional products
Create engaging in-restaurant displays and retail experiences
Support social media, website content, and promotional campaigns with our media team
Visit suppliers and producers to help tell the story behind our products
Identify opportunities to grow sales, subscriptions, and customer loyalty
Ensure the retail offering reflects the quality and standards of the restaurant brand
Assist with weekend activity and busy service periods within the restaurant environment

About You

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves food, hospitality, and people.

You may currently work in:

Premium hospitality
Food retail
Farm shop or delicatessen management
Luxury customer service
Wine, cheese, or artisan produce retail
Restaurant management
Personal shopping or lifestyle services

Most importantly, you will:

Be personable, warm, and relationship-focused
Have a strong interest in exceptional food and drink
Be commercially aware and highly organised
Enjoy creating experiences rather than simply selling products
Be creative and confident bringing new ideas forward
Have excellent communication skills
Be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a growing concept
Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred)

Hours
