Qualification Technician / Engineer

We are now looking for a Qualification Technician / Engineer to join our team in Lincoln.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in semiconductor testing, reliability, environmental testing or a related engineering environment who wants to develop their technical expertise and play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.
The Role
As a Qualification Technician / Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, carrying out and maintaining qualification and reliability testing for power semiconductor devices and modules.
You will work closely with teams across Design, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Failure Analysis, supporting product development from qualification through to ongoing reliability improvement.
The role will involve analysing technical data, investigating failures, preparing technical reports and ensuring testing is carried out to the required internal, customer and international standards.
Duties / Responsibilities

Develop, execute and maintain qualification test plans for power semiconductor modules in accordance with internal procedures, customer requirements and relevant industry standards.

Perform qualification, reliability and lifetime testing of power semiconductor devices and analyse test results.

Interpret qualification and reliability results, identifying trends and potential failure mechanisms and supporting root cause investigations.

Support physical and electrical failure analysis activities, working closely with Failure Analysis teams to resolve reliability issues.

Interpret and implement customer-specific qualification requirements and international standards, including IEC, JEDEC and AEC-Q, where applicable.

Prepare technical reports, qualification summaries and reliability documentation for internal stakeholders and customers.

Work collaboratively with Design, Process Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure qualification requirements are incorporated throughout the product development lifecycle.

Develop, improve and validate qualification test methods, fixtures and laboratory processes to enhance testing capability and efficiency.

Support customer technical enquiries relating to qualification, reliability testing and applicable standards.

Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated and operated in accordance with quality, health and safety requirements.

Maintain accurate test records and documentation in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in qualification processes, laboratory capability and product reliability.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging qualification and reliability standards.
Skills / Experience Required
We are looking for someone who is analytical, methodical and technically minded, with a genuine interest in understanding how products perform and why failures occur.
You will ideally have:

Experience of semiconductor test and characterisation, qualification and reliability testing, or environmental testing within a laboratory, manufacturing or R&D environment.

Knowledge of power semiconductor devices and modules, or similar electronic products.

An understanding of semiconductor qualification and reliability standards and test methods, such as IEC, JEDEC and AEC-Q, or equivalent.

Experience analysing technical data and interpreting test results to identify trends, failure mechanisms and reliability performance.

Knowledge of failure analysis techniques and root cause investigation.

Experience using laboratory equipment and electrical and thermal test systems.

The ability to prepare clear technical reports and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams to support product development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree, HNC or HND in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related engineering/scientific discipline, or have equivalent relevant industry experience.-
An understanding of semiconductor reliability engineering principles and product qualification methodologies would be highly advantageous.
