Self Employed Bookkeeper/Financial Controller required for building company based in Wineham

Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth bookkeeping operations.

Responsibilities

· Manage and record all financial transactions using Sage 50 (or Sage Cloud) and data input into specialist construction software

· Maintaining supplier & customer records

· Prepare quarterly VAT returns

· Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly to ensure accuracy

· Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare basic financial reports

· Support the owner with other bookkeeping tasks as needed to ensure efficient financial operations

· Collaborate with external accountants during audits or tax preparations, and year end

· Prepare CIS invoices on specialist software, (training will be given), and set up payments

· Reconcile & submit monthly CIS return.

Experience

· Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role

· Good understanding of excel

· Bookkeeping: 5 years (required) Preferably qualified, AAT, ICB

· Good understanding of CIS

· Proficiency with Sage 50 accounting software

· Strong understanding of general ledger management

· Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail

· Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively

· Bookkeeping: 5 years (required) Preferable qualified, AAT, ICB

Job Type: Part-time, Self employed

Starting Pay: £20per hour

Expected hours: Tuesdays 9-5 & flexible hours for an additional day.
