About the Role

Wivenhoe Surgery has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated receptionist to join the team based in practice. The role is offered on a part-time basis, for 16 hours a week worked over 5 days, with one Saturday morning every 8 weeks.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

booking appointments,
greeting patients,
answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff,
updating patient records,
processing correspondence,
liaising with patients using various different types of communication methods.

About the Candidate

The role requires:

excellent communication skills
a good understanding of IT
experience of providing customer services as part of a previous role, ideally in a busy reception/public environment
a good standard of education including maths and English
you to have flexibility to cover other shifts, to cover colleagues' annual leave or absence
Experience of working in general practice will be an advantage but training will be given to a suitable candidate
Experience of EMIS would be desirable, however full training will be given to a suitable candidate
you to have a friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors, both in person or over the telephone
