Green Energy Solar is looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Solar Project Coordinator to join our growing installation team.
You will work alongside our existing Project Coordinator, supporting our Installation Manager with the successful delivery of solar PV and battery storage installations across South Wales and the West.
You will help coordinate each project from the point an order is confirmed through to installation and completion. This will involve organising surveys, scaffolding, materials, installation teams and customer communications.
This is a varied role with excellent training and genuine potential to progress into a more senior Project Manager position as your experience develops.
Essential location requirement
To be considered for this position, you must currently be living within the Cardiff or Newport area and be able to travel reliably to the workplace.
What you will be doing
As Solar Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the Installation Manager and existing Project Coordinator to plan solar PV and battery storage installations.
- Coordinating projects from confirmed order through to successful completion.
- Booking site surveys, scaffolding and installation dates.
- Liaising with customers, installers, electricians, scaffolders, suppliers and other contractors.
- Keeping customers informed about progress, appointments, changes and next steps.
- Responding to customer queries and obtaining answers from the appropriate team member when required.
- Allocating people, materials and resources to individual projects.
- Ordering materials and monitoring stock levels.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project records.
- Monitoring project schedules and identifying potential delays or issues.
- Helping to resolve scheduling, materials or customer-service issues quickly and professionally.
- Ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time and to Green Energy Solar’s quality standards.
- Taking ownership of tasks and following them through to completion.

- Strong administration and record-keeping skills.
- Good numeracy skills, particularly when dealing with orders, materials and stock.
- Confidence using email, spreadsheets and general office systems.
- The ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A calm, professional and solution-focused approach when plans change.
- A strong sense of ownership and pride in completing work properly.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team.
Desirable experience
Previous experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:
- Project coordination
- Installation scheduling
- Construction or electrical services
- Renewable energy
- Logistics or resource planning
- Customer service
- Stock control or materials ordering
Previous solar industry experience is not essential. Training will be provided to help the successful candidate understand our solar PV and battery storage installation processes.
