We are looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Person to join our team and support our portfolio of supported living properties across the region.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement works across our supported living services. This is a hands-on role requiring practical experience across multiple trades, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.
You will play a key role in ensuring our properties remain safe, compliant, and comfortable for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across supported living properties.
- Perform repairs and maintenance including:
- Basic plumbing
- Carpentry and joinery
- Decorating and painting
- Tiling and flooring repairs
- General building maintenance
- Basic electrical repairs (within competency)
- Conduct regular property inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
- Complete preventative maintenance to minimise future repairs and costs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency call-outs when required.
- Ensure all properties remain compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise professionally with support staff, contractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Assist with property refurbishments, adaptations, and improvement projects.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to tenants.
- Report any safeguarding, health and safety, or property concerns to management.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a property maintenance, facilities, handyman, building services, or similar role.
- Relevant qualification in a trade discipline such as Plumbing, Electrical Installation, Carpentry, Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or equivalent (NVQ Level 2 or above).
- Practical skills across multiple trades.
- Good understanding of building maintenance and repair techniques.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work respectfully within occupied homes and supported living environments.
Desirable Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade qualification.
- City & Guilds qualifications.
- Experience working within supported living, healthcare, social care, housing, or residential settings.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements relating to residential properties.
- IOSH or other Health & Safety qualification.
