Seasonal Tearoom Catering Assistants

Based in Grosmont or Goathland Train Station

We are a Real Living Wage Employer- Hourly Rate £13.45 (over 18).

Fixed Term to 4th November 2026

We are looking for someone to cover 2-3 shifts per week over our busy summer period from mid-June to beginning of September, to assist our full- time staff member over the Summer School holidays. Shifts are 4 – 6 hours long & will usually include Tuesdays and some weekend working. Age 17+

Do you have experience working in a fast-paced catering environment? Are you interested in delivering exceptional customer service? Would you like to join our friendly Tearoom Team, offering a first-class visitor experience to our customers, whilst working at one of Britain’s most popular Heritage Railways?

Yes ……. Then this could be the job for you!

You will

Assist in all aspects of food preparation and service to visitors and working members of the NYMR in a friendly, professional & profitable manner.
Maintain the cleanliness of the premises, to clean and wipe tables & keep the tearoom clean and well stocked.
Follow all health & safety procedures, ensuring good food hygiene practices are adhered to at all times, ensuring the tearoom retains its level 5 food standard rating.
