CHEF DE PARTIE

About Us

Lady of the Grapes is just opened a new restaurant near Borough Market. As we just opened our doors, we are seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie to join our founding kitchen team.

The first Lady of the Grapes, a wine bar and restaurant in Covent Garden, was founded in 2018 by Carole Bryon, owner, sommelier, and occasional chef. Our new branch at Borough Market features a 70-seat restaurant (+ a 20 seat private terrace) and a separate 40-seat wine bar.

Lady of the Grapes is a French, ingredient-led restaurant that showcases classic techniques and seasonal produce, with an open kitchen featuring a live barbecue. All our wines are organic, biodynamic, or natural, made exclusively by female winemakers, with an extensive and carefully curated wine list.

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join our women-friendly, collaborative team and grow within our company. Recipes are created by Matyas Plzak, our Head Chef, who has two years’ experience at Lady of the Grapes in Covent Garden and a strong Michelin restaurant background. Under his leadership, our tinny kitchen in Covent Garden branch earned 2 AA Rosettes.

Role Overview

As Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running your section efficiently and consistently during service. You will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure every dish meets our standards of quality, creativity, and precision. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills within a high-level kitchen and be part of an exciting new opening.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of your section, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standard, following recipes and specifications.
Ensure mise en place is organised, labelled, and ready for service.
Maintain consistency in presentation and portioning.
Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, following instructions and feedback.
Assist in training and supporting Commis Chefs and junior team members.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety (HACCP).
Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner during service.
Monitor stock levels within your section and communicate needs effectively.

Person Specification

Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie ready to step up.
Experience in high-quality or Michelin-level kitchens is a plus.
Good knowledge of French cuisine is desirable.
Passion for food and interest in wine.
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Good understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
Organised and reliable.
Good spoken and written English.
A positive team player with a willingness to learn and grow.
