Full job description

HIRING FOR A SHORT-TERM ROLE IN PLANNING AND DELIVERING NEURODIVERSITY AWARENESS EVENTS IN LONDON UNIVERSITIES. SUITABLE FOR THOSE REQUIRING REFERENCES FOR FUTURE ROLES WITHIN A 4 MONTH TIMELINE OF HIRING.

M2 SPED Awareness is seeking 2 Volunteer Neurodiversity Awareness Event Intern-London to use their experience of public speaking and event co-ordination to co-plan and deliver 2 neurodiversity awareness university street clinics in London, with a view to inform about reasonable adjustments and signpost potential attendees to relevant support services, gain new contacts for our charity mailing list and gather small-scale donations for the charity.

Your delivery of the 2 events will contribute to making a difference to neurodivergent individuals in a higher education setting as well as helping the charity to grow its communication and support database with the attendees you meet.

The Neurodiversity Awareness Events will take place in-person for 1 hour 30 minutes each in a London University based on Team-based choice at a date and time that works best for all participating in co-delivering the event. In addition, you will also take part in leaflet distribution in a London area of your choice for 1 hour in November.

What we offer

After completion of the role, you can request for references from the co-founder of the charity for any future job applications.

There are 3 training opportunities in September on different neurodivergent groups in higher education to keep your knowledge up to date on neurodiversity and equipped for the events in the role.

You will also be given a free copy of our guidebook on Neurodiversity which is scheduled to be released to the public on September.

What you will do?

work with the organisation on a monthly basis to complete the following:

TIMETABLE:

(i) August 2026 (To be arranged on your availability): Induction Training I: Introduction to Neurodiversity, Charity & Role [2 hour 30 mins, O] + Induction Training II: How to create a Great Fundraising Pitch [1 hour, O] + Optional Teambuilding Hour [1 hour, O]

[TOTAL ESTIMATED HOURS= 4 hours]

(ii) SEPTEMBER 2026 (To be arranged around your availabilities):

Training III: Dyslexia Awareness in Higher Education [1 hour, O] + Training IV: ADHD Awareness in Higher Education [1 hour, O] + Training V: Autism Awareness in Higher Education [1 hour, O] + Neurodiversity Awareness Event Planning Meeting (for October Neurodiversity Awareness University Street Clinic) [45 minutes, O]

[TOTAL ESTIMATED HOURS= 3 hours 45 minutes]

(iii) OCTOBER 2026 (To be arranged around your availabilities):

Neurodiversity Awareness Event Delivery (Neurodiversity Awareness University Street Clinic) [1 hour 30 minutes, IP] + Neurodiversity Awareness Event Planning Meeting (for November Neurodiversity Awareness University Street Clinic) [45 minutes, O]+ Leaflet Distribution Event Planning Meeting [30 minutes, O]

If Successful Candidate No. 1: Marketing Team Liaison work [30 minutes, O]

(iv) NOVEMBER 2026 (To be arranged around your availabilities):

Neurodiversity Awareness Event Delivery (Neurodiversity Awareness University Street Clinic) [1 hour 30 minutes, IP] + Leaflet Distribution Event (Distribute leaflets across London area of choice) [1 hour, O]

If Successful Candidate No. 2: Marketing Team Liaison work [30 minutes, O]

What you’ll bring

Essential skills and experience:

· Must have experience in managing, leading, or co-ordinating events

· Confident public speaking skills

· Excellent teamworking skills

· Passion for the cause of wanting to make a difference to the Neurodiverse community.

Desirable skills and experience:

· Experience with fundraising or crowdfunding.

· Enhanced DBS
