Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tile Fitter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiled surfaces in various settings, including residential and commercial properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction and carpentry to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate attention to detail, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.

Duties

Measure and prepare surfaces for tiling, ensuring accurate layout according to project specifications
Cut tiles precisely using hand tools and power tools to fit designated spaces
Install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces following schematics and technical drawings
Apply adhesives, grouts, and sealants to secure tiles effectively
Repair or replace damaged tiles as required, maintaining high standards of workmanship
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
Assist with surface preparation tasks such as construction painting or surface levelling when necessary
Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste responsibly

Skills

Proven experience in construction, tiling, or related trades
Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and cutters
Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
Knowledge of carpentry principles relevant to tile installation
Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions
Familiarity with construction painting is advantageous but not essential
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and precision
Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
