Full job description

To support our growth plans we have exciting opportunities to join our Operations team as a Warehouse Operative (Nights). We are looking for a strong team player to ensure that goods are moved in and out of our warehouse in accordance with operational and our customers' needs and are correctly handled whilst within the warehouse's care.

Salary: £29,670 (OTE - £31,170, £125 per month discretionary bonus based on role KPI’s)

Location: Watford - Unit 7a, Odhams Trading Estate, St Albans Road, Watford, WD24 7RY - You must live within 30 minutes commutable distance

Hours of work: Full Time - 40 hours per week, 18.00 - 03.00, Sunday to Thursday

Key job responsibilities:

Assisting colleagues, the Warehouse Supervisor and the Warehouse Manager in ensuring all goods are picked accurately and efficiently aligned to the business’ KPI. Maintaining all the relevant paperwork required during the shift.
Dealing with the receipt of, handling of, and dispatch of products in and out of our warehouse, ensuring that they are dealt with correctly and in accordance with procedures.
To follow the correct procedures ensuring that safe working practices are followed and aligned to the company’s Health and Safety policy.
Ensuring that the correct fresh and ambient products are picked for customers’ orders, correctly packed and dispatched to customers on the correct date and that the relevant paperwork is completed and procedures followed.
Ensuring that fresh, frozen and ambient stock received is received in the correct condition (temperature, damages etc.), is put away in the correct location, booked in and is rotated correctly.
Keeping all areas of the warehouse clean and tidy.
Carrying out stock counts for the stock controllers and other counts as required on an ad-hoc basis.
Communicating any issues with your line manager and/or Stock Controllers to allow for a quick resolution.
To suggest improvements to the company's purchasing and warehousing system and to implement agreed changes in systems.
To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competency as required by their line manager.

Full training and support will be provided.

What do you need?

Full UK driving license (to move company vans around the yard during shift)
Previous experience within a multi temperature warehouse environment
Forklift Truck license (desirable)
Good communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Courteous
Must be 18 years of age or older to comply with our insurance requirements
May have to lift heavy products (up to 25KG) and be capable of climbing in and out of the company vehicles
Must be comfortable working at low temperatures in the cold store
