Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior GP Administrator to join our medical practice team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing administrative tasks, supporting clinical staff, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong communication and organisational skills to contribute to a professional healthcare environment. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to administrative duties, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Managing appointment scheduling and patient records using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications
Handling correspondence, including emails and phone calls, with professionalism and courtesy
Maintaining accurate medical documentation, including coding and filing using Microsoft Word and Excel
Assisting with the preparation of reports, presentations, and data analysis through Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record management
Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards
Providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues
Organising meetings, training sessions, and other practice events efficiently
Managing incoming enquiries promptly and effectively to facilitate smooth practice operations

Qualifications

Proven experience using Emis CRM System is essential
Experience in GP Practice setting for at least 2 years is desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential
Strong knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Experience in customer service and IT systems relevant to healthcare administration
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with excellent time management skills
Previous experience in medical administration or healthcare IT systems will be advantageous

This role is ideal for a dedicated professional eager to support a busy healthcare team through efficient administrative practices.

Pay: £13.15-£14.00 per hour
