We are looking for Materials Management Operative s to join our team. In this important, customer-facing role, you will help ensure that vital medical supplies reach the right place at the right time, supporting clinical teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

This is an opportunity to build your career within the NHS. You will work alongside experienced colleagues and gain knowledge of healthcare logistics and materials management. We offer training, support, and a collaborative, inclusive working environment where everyone’s contribution is valued.

The role may be based at Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, Ealing Hospital or Central Middlesex Hospital. Your base location will be confirmed on appointment. Please note that High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) payments vary depending on location.

As a Materials Management Operative, you will:
Act as a key point of contact for wards, departments and services across the Trust, providing excellent customer service and building effective working relationships with colleagues.

Support the management of the Trust’s goods inwards and outwards processes, ensuring essential medical supplies are received, stored and delivered accurately and efficiently.

Assist customers at main stores by verifying deliveries, picking and packing supplies against requisitions, and ensuring orders are completed correctly.

Monitor and manage stock levels proactively, anticipating clinical requirements and working with NHS Supply Chain and suppliers to maintain appropriate inventory levels.

Use inventory management systems to scan, order, replenish and store items accurately, supporting efficient stock control processes.

Ensure the safe handling, security and appropriate storage of goods throughout the delivery and storage process.

Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies, shortages and supply issues promptly to support the continuity of healthcare services.

Contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.

Follow Trust policies and procedures, including health and safety and infection prevention and control requirements.
