British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the UK’s largest independent funder of cardiovascular disease research. We can find better ways to prevent, treat and even cure cardiovascular conditions that rob so many of us of our loved ones. But we can’t do it
alone.
By volunteering for us, you are helping us fund lifesaving research to unlock treatments that could give someone a longer, healthier life. From babies born with a heart condition to people recovering from a devastating heart attack, you can help us give people more time with the ones they love.
What will I be doing?
- Responsible for the Communications Planner for the Safety, Health and Wellbeing Team you will keep track of planned and delivered communications
- Work with members of the H&S Team to create and schedule engaging posts for our internal Viva Engage platform to drive awareness and participation

- Working in collaboration with the Digital Volunteer to promote new Safe Operating Procedures and updates
How much time do BHF need?
We’re looking for 6 months commitment with flexible hours that suit you.
Where is the volunteering?
We know life can get busy, so flexibility is at the heart of this role. Most of the volunteering will be done remotely, giving you the freedom to work from wherever you’re most comfortable. At the same time, we truly value connection and collaboration, so we’d love to meet in person from time to time to share ideas and keep the creative energy flowing.
What skills and experience do I need?
- Good organisational skills and be able to work independently

What training and support will I get?
While we’re looking for someone who can work independently and bring their own creative ideas, you won’t be on your own. All volunteers complete training on MyVolunteer before starting to ensure you are confident and happy in your role. Whilst volunteering you will be supported by a BHF member of staff who will provide regular check-ins, clear guidance, feedback on content to ensure you feel supported and aligned with our vision along with the resources and information you need.
What will I get out of volunteering?
By volunteering with BHF you will help fund vital research and support those affected by heart disease. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and have some fun whilst making a life saving difference.
This is more than just a creative project but an opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.
You’ll be able to:
- Learn how to simplify complex information into engaging formats (one-pagers, posts)
