Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wok Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic wok dishes, ensuring high-quality food presentation, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a flair for Asian cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The Wok Chef will play a vital part in creating delicious, visually appealing meals that delight our customers.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of wok-based dishes according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used efficiently to minimise waste
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the wok station in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist in menu development by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal flavour and presentation
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service
Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines during food preparation and cooking processes
Manage stock levels of ingredients, notifying management of shortages or expiry dates
Serve dishes promptly, ensuring they meet quality standards before presentation to customers

Experience

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
Previous experience working as a chef specialising in Asian cuisine or wok dishes is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices in a commercial kitchen setting
Experience working in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment, demonstrating efficiency under pressure
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and serving protocols

This role requires dedication, creativity, and a passion for delivering authentic Asian cuisine. Candidates should possess excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
