Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience to contribute to a dynamic organisation. The position involves working with various tools and techniques, including welding, assembly, and equipment repair, in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should be committed to safety and customer service, with the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a range of equipment using schematics and technical manuals
Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out repairs and assembly work
Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate
Assist in the installation of new machinery and systems as required
Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance schedules
Lift heavy components safely and assist in the movement of large or cumbersome items

Qualifications

Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role with a solid understanding of mechanical systems
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and equipment repair methods
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good organisational skills for record keeping and task prioritisation
Customer service orientation with effective communication skills
Relevant qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential
