Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our vibrant educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance instruction, with experience working with children and young learners. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students through creative movement and physical education, fostering their artistic and personal development in a supportive environment. The Dance Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that promote confidence, coordination, and a love for dance, while ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all students.

Duties

Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons tailored to various skill levels, incorporating creative movement and physical education principles
Foster a positive learning environment that encourages participation, creativity, and self-expression
Manage behaviour effectively through behaviour management strategies, ensuring a respectful classroom atmosphere
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special educational needs or behavioural challenges
Support students’ overall development by integrating elements of childcare and early childhood education into lessons
Provide constructive feedback to students to promote progress and confidence in their abilities
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content that aligns with organisational goals
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavioural notes
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in dance education and special education

Qualifications

Proven experience in teaching dance or physical education, ideally with children or young learners
Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues
Experience working with children with special educational needs or behavioural difficulties is highly desirable
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques suitable for classroom settings involving children
Background in early childhood education or preschool experience is advantageous
Skills in tutoring or teaching related subjects such as maths or creative writing are considered a plus
Demonstrated ability to create inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
Relevant qualifications in dance instruction, early childhood education, or special educational needs are preferred
