Full job description

We are looking for a Holiday Activity 1:1 Support (SEND) to join our team over the Summer half term delivering on the Holiday Activity & Food Programme.

Molly's Gift have been delivering Holiday Activity & Food Programmes since 2021 for younger children, and this year we are expanding to provide a Summer programme for older school children, aged 11-16.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people, specifically those with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities.

The role includes providing 1:1 support to a young person, assisting them to participate in a range of enriching activities throughout the day, including trips out. You will act as their designated support through the programme to ensure their needs are met and supported at all times.

Responsibilities:

Be a designated 1:1 support for a young person with SEND.
Encourage participation in activities and at lunch times.
Provide feedback to the Holiday Activity Co-Ordinator.
Create a comfortable & safe environment for the young person.
Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and secure environment.
Liase with Holiday Activity Leaders to plan ahead for your young person's needs.
Support with outings/trips.
Take responsibility for any safeguarding and safety concerns, ensuring they are reported appropriately to the DSL.

Previous experience working with young people with additional needs is essential. Though some applications may be considered, if other aspects of application meets requirements.

A fully enhanced DBS is essential. We can provide this if you do not already have one.

The role will be temporary over the 6 week Summer half term, with up to 30 hours a week available. If successful, there will be other opportunities for casual work within other Molly's Gifts projects, including Saturday Club and other half term camps across the year.
