Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company policies. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a keen eye for detail to develop their career within a professional environment. Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
Perform routine vehicle inspections, identifying defects or issues that may affect safety or emissions.
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs or adjustments as required during testing procedures.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and test results in accordance with company procedures.
Assist in the preparation of vehicles for testing, including checking lights, tyres, brakes, and exhaust systems.
Ensure the workshop maintains high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety at all times.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining test results clearly and advising on necessary repairs or maintenance.

Experience

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment safely.
Familiarity with current MOT testing regulations and procedures is advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping.
A valid MOT Tester qualification recognised by the DVSA is essential.
