Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Relief Personal Assistant to provide flexible support within a care home environment. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, ensuring residents receive compassionate and personalised care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting individuals with diverse needs while developing valuable skills in home care and communication. The position is paid and suitable for those looking to gain experience in the care sector or seeking flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities

Support residents with daily routines, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation
Assist in implementing and updating individual care plans in accordance with organisational policies
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a friendly and respectful environment
Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times by adhering to health and safety guidelines
Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and family members to coordinate care needs
Maintain accurate records of care activities using IT systems and documentation procedures
Support the care team during shift changes and cover absences as required
Assist with light domestic duties within the care home to maintain a clean and comfortable environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in home care or working within a care home setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Basic IT skills for recording information and updating care plans
Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable individuals
Ability to work flexibly across different shifts as needed, including evenings or weekends if required
