Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality childcare and early childhood education within a nurturing environment. This role involves working closely with children, supporting their development, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong management and leadership skills, along with excellent communication abilities, to foster a positive learning atmosphere for young children.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote the developmental needs of children in accordance with early childhood education standards
Supervise and support children during play, learning, and mealtime to ensure a safe and inclusive environment
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Ensure health and safety policies are strictly adhered to at all times
Manage daily operations within the nursery setting, including organising activities and overseeing staff performance where applicable
Support children's emotional well-being by providing comfort and guidance as needed
Assist in the organisation of outings or special events that enhance children's learning experiences

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily nursery operations effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare) or equivalent
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending outings
Passionate about working with children and committed to their safety and development
