Job Title: Bartender at 19 The Wine Bar & Cafe @ 19

Location: 19 The Wine Bar, Lowther Street, Kendal

About Us:

Join the team at 19 The Wine Bar, Kendal’s stylish destination for great food, fine wines, and relaxed social vibes. Set in a beautifully restored Grade II listed building, we offer a unique experience that blends a welcoming daytime café with a vibrant evening wine bar. From our cosy lounge and bespoke iron-work bar to our stunning rooftop terrace, we pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere that’s warm, friendly, and full of character. If you’re passionate about hospitality and want to be part of a team that values quality, creativity, and exceptional service, we’d love to hear from you.

Rate of Pay: £13.00 per hour.

Hours:

Around 35 hours a week
Shifts ranging within: Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 AM – Close (around 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM).
Some shifts will be mainly based in the cafe area and some in the bar. With flexibility to move between the two.
Flexibility required for extra hours to cover holidays and large bookings

What You’ll Do

Guest Experience: Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service by greeting guests, addressing inquiries and concerns, and ensuring that all guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Food Service Coordination: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation and presentation of food orders, adhering to quality standards and guest preferences.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling procedures, and alcohol service laws.
Financial Management: Assist in up-selling techniques, and promotional initiatives.
Personal Hygiene Standards: Uphold strict personal hygiene standards, including regular handwashing, proper grooming, and adherence to uniform policies, to set a positive example for staff and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.

Requirements

Previous experience as a bartender or barista
Previous experience in leadership roles
Knowledge of drink mixing and basic bar equipment
Barista training preferred, however training can be provided
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
Flexible availability for weekend evenings
