Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fish and Chip Shop Fryer to join our busy team.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation with a focus on delivering high-quality fish, chips and other menu items. This role involves operating fryers, cleaning fryers, preparing fresh ingredients, maintaining food safety standards and hygiene in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience is essential to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service, however training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Operate and filter fryers to cook fish, chips, and other menu items to perfection.
Prepare fish and chicken for goujons/burgers
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including fryers, work surfaces, and utensils.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee consistent quality.
Assist with stock rotation and inventory management of ingredients and supplies.
Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or contamination.

Requirements

Proven experience as a fryer in a fish and chip shop or similar food establishment.
Knowledge of food production processes, including food preparation and safety standards.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
