Why join us?:

The Major Injury & Casualty team at DWF and are currently hiring for a Solicitor to join the Casualty team in Manchester.

The Major Injury & Casualty Team are nationally recognised and one of the largest in the UK. We act for a number of well-known insurer clients and provide high quality advice on a wide range of matters that are of significant value, resulting in an interesting and rewarding set of cases for you to work on.

The team handle a range of defendant personal injury matters including Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) and Disease as well as related pre-litigation investigations.

This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days required in the Manchester office each week.

Responsibilities:

To handle your own caseload, whilst also providing some support to more senior team members.
Drafting court documents, attending court hearings, working to court deadlines.
Conducting liability investigations, gathering evidence, preparing advice to clients, identifying medical experts and preparing instructions.
Reviewing medical records and other case related documents.
Providing the highest level of client care at all times.

What will help you succeed in this role? :

Essential;

A qualified Solicitor or equivalent. We will also consider NQ Solicitors with the right background and experience.
Previous experience handling in your own right or supporting a senior team member with a litigated, defendant Casualty EL/PL case load.
- Candidates with a disease experience would be advantageous.
The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, whilst working to strict deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to quickly and carefully analyse files and sensitive data.
Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
