Overview

We are seeking an experienced Service Receptionist to join our small dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the friendly face of our organisation, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role involves engaging with clients, managing appointments, and supporting the service team to deliver outstanding automotive or technical services. Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a service environment is essential, along with a proactive attitude and excellent organisational skills. Reliability and Integrity are essential qualities that we are looking for the right candidate to have in abundance.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule service appointments efficiently.
Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using the company’s system.
Upsell additional services or products where appropriate to maximise customer satisfaction and revenue.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service history, and payments.
Assist customers with enquiries regarding services, repairs, and vehicle or equipment issues.
Support the service team by coordinating workflow and ensuring timely communication between departments.
Keep the reception area tidy and organised to present a professional appearance.
Manage incoming calls, emails, and messages promptly and courteously.
Demonstrate mechanical knowledge when discussing services or troubleshooting basic issues with clients.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Service Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within an automotive or technical environment.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse client needs professionally.
Competent cash handling abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining excellent customer relations.
Basic mechanical knowledge is desirable but not essential; willingness to learn is important.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in using booking systems, point-of-sale terminals, and standard office software.
