Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort, safety, and well-being. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a supportive team environment.

Duties

Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
Maintain accurate care plans and document any changes in residents’ conditions
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents’ quality of life
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to coordinate care needs
Assist with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living space
Support clients in attending appointments or engaging in social activities outside the care setting

Skills

Experience working within a care home is essential. Minimum 1 year
Ability to understand and follow detailed care plans accurately
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Basic IT skills for recording notes and updating care records efficiently
Excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents and their families
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others
Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities effectively

36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts: 8am -8pm including alternate weekends, as per rota.
