Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety, and managing a team of culinary professionals. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for hospitality. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a vibrant dining environment while demonstrating exceptional organisational and management abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee food production, preparation, and presentation to meet quality standards and customer expectations
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes
Train and mentor staff to enhance skills, efficiency, and teamwork within the kitchen
Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and foster a positive working environment
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain accurate records of food stock levels, wastage, and safety checks
Implement health and safety policies to minimise risks within the kitchen environment

Qualifications

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in menu development, food production management, and cost control
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is highly desirable
A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and fostering team growth

Pay: £16.00-£20.00 per hour
