Overview
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant General Manager to join our team at NoHo. As our Assistant General Manager, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to implement key initiatives that elevate our operational standards, foster a positive and inclusive culture, and enhance our guest experience in line with our strategic objectives.
Rate of pay:
- This role starts at £15 per hour, and rises following a 6 month probation.
- This role is hourly paid rather than salary, meaning you will be compensated for all hours worked above those contracted to.
- Pay is weekly, and the total compensation includes a share of TRONC which works out as an additional £2-£3 per hour which is expected to rise with business performance.
Hours:
We only trade over Friday and Saturday in the Summer with additional admin and cleaning shifts mid week, so we can only offer 30 hours per week. More hours will become available when we reach the Winter period or host events.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day operations: Leading daily activities and shifts, ensuring that all team members represent the venue in alignment with our company standards and core training materials. Maintain a hands-on and charismatic approach to leadership, setting expectations and monitoring staff performance.
- Staff Training and Development: Champion our brand standards through the training and continuous development of all team members, embodying the company’s values with proactive and charismatic leadership.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Ensure appropriate staffing at all times, managing rotas and making adjustments to maintain labour costs.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular appraisals, set performance objectives, deliver constructive feedback, to identify growth opportunities within your team.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the venue operates within all regulatory and licensing requirements, conducting risk assessments, and adhering strictly to health and safety regulations to provide a safe environment for both guests and staff.
- Customer Experience: Take a customer centric approach to every aspect of management. Monitor guest feedback closely, address issues promptly, and continuously seek opportunities to elevate the guest experience and improve our offering.
- Problem Solving and Crisis Management: Manage challenges swiftly and effectively, whether addressing equipment malfunctions, staff shortages, or customer concerns, using strong problem-solving skills to minimise disruptions and maintain smooth operations.
- Marketing and Promotions: Work closely with senior management to develop and execute strategies to increase footfall and drive sales. Analyse market trends to identify opportunities for growth, and implement initiatives that align with our brand vision.
About You
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a managerial role with demonstrated success in leading teams to achieve results. Experience in busy late night cocktail bar environment is preferred.
- Customer Centric Mindset: You will possess a customer centric approach to management, consistently prioritising exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for presentation and quality, ensuring the venue is always represented at the highest level.
- Financial Acumen: A solid understanding of financial management principles is preferred, though training can be provided.
- Marketing Insight: Familiarity with strategies for promoting a hospitality venue, with an eye for brand-aligned growth.
- Forward Thinking Leadership: An innovative and forward looking leader, ready to support and drive our organisation through upcoming changes, with a vision for growth and a commitment to our long-term success.
- Hands on Leadership: All of our managers aren't afraid to be hands on in all areas of the business whether this is supporting the bar or the floor.
- Cocktail Knowledge: Alongside our sister sites Wood & Company and Dusk TIl Pawn, we pride ourselves on our cocktails. Knowledge of classic cocktails is a must, as well as the development of bespoke seasonal menus.
