Location: Moss Side, Manchester

Salary: £14.80 per hour (Pay Increase Once Passed Probation)

Contract: Full Time, 32 Hours per week plus sleeps

Shift Pattern: The shift is a 24 hour shift, 10:00-10:00, Monday to Sunday. There may be opportunity for overtime.

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to provide an exceptional service for our client in Moss Side. You will be working closely within a team helping to ensure that a continuity of care is provided to our clients.

About The Role

We are looking for a kind, proactive, and patient female Rehabilitation Support Worker to join the team supporting a 70-year-old woman with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). This is a fulfilling role where you’ll be making a real difference in her daily life, helping her maintain independence and enjoy the things she loves.

The client lives in her own home with 24/7 support in place and is generally very independent, but she benefits from gentle prompting and guidance with day-to-day tasks. She can communicate verbally, is mobile, and has no significant behavioural challenges.

She’s sociable and enjoys community outings like shopping trips, visits to Wetherspoons, charity shop browsing, and going for walks. The client has her own vehicle, so staff must hold a valid driving licence but will not be required to use their own car.

At home, she enjoys chatting, watching soaps, reading, and listening to music. She’s proud of her space and likes things the way she likes them, so an approach that respects her independence and preferences is key. She also receives ongoing support from a psychologist, who will help guide the team to provide the most effective and person-centred care.

A typical day might begin with prompting her morning routine – breakfast, medication, and a shower – before heading out for a community activity or relaxing at home. Evenings are usually calm and cosy, with TV, reading, and winding down before bed.

Your main attributes will be friendly, approachable and have empathy towards your client treating them with respect and dignity at all times. We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.

About You

Experience of working in a support role, both in the community and the home.

Friendly, approachable and confident in the role.

Experience and ability to understand and deal with complex and challenging behaviour.

Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the client.

NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent recognised health profession qualification.

A full driving licence and access to your own car is required, as you will be using it to support the client in the community.

Experience working with acquired brain injury

Previously worked with therapists to deliver a support plan.

Registered on DBS update service.
