Job Title: Barista / All-Rounder Location: Sofia Patisserie, 98 Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester, M4 4EX

Job Overview We are seeking a friendly, hardworking, and versatile Barista/All-Rounder to join our dynamic team at Sofia Patisserie. This role is wide-ranging and fast-paced, covering everything from coffee preparation and customer service to content creation, outdoor sales, and event support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food and hospitality, immaculately presented, and confident working both front-of-house and out in the community.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, beverages and drinks to the highest standard, managing the coffee station throughout service
Serve customers efficiently and professionally with friendliness, positivity and engaging conversation to ensure they feel comfortable and valued
Greet customers upon entry, offering a warm and welcoming first impression
Assist with food and meal preparation in the kitchen, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained at all times
Perform deep cleaning duties and maintain front-of-house areas, coffee stations, and outdoor/garden seating to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation
Actively upsell cakes, menu items and beverages with confidence and strong product knowledge
Maintain intricate knowledge of all menu items and ingredients
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth service
Flyer and drum up customers on the street, to local businesses, warehouses and offices
Carry out direct sales and promotion on behalf of the business
Capture daily content on the premises — customers, interactions, smiling faces, testimonials, and all menu items and drinks
Create and post content daily across social platforms, with a minimum of 3 posts going out per day
Stay focused on current trends and implement them in social content
Assist with the organisation and promotion of unique events such as Ladies' Night, Influencer Evenings, Bloggers Brunches and similar
Liaise and communicate effectively with kitchen and service team members
Report any issues, breakages or incidents immediately to management
Ensure the safety, security, and general observation of the premises at all times
Maintain immaculate personal presentation at all times — clean, pressed clothing, hair slicked back with no loose strands, and excellent personal hygiene

Skills & Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (_do not apply _if you have less than 2 years' experience)
Sound knowledge of food safety standards, FSA regulations, and allergen awareness
Valid Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Experience delivering professional, friendly customer service
Confidence in direct sales, upselling, and customer-facing promotion
Experience or strong interest in social media content creation and current trends
Basic maths skills for handling cash and measuring ingredients
Excellent time management and ability to prioritise during busy periods
Strong organisational skills to keep work areas tidy, stocked and presentable
A positive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills
Professional appearance and commitment to the company's presentation standards

Pay: £12.21-£18.00 per hour
