Bishop Burton College is seeking an experienced and motivated Animal Scientist to join our Higher Education team as a Lecturer in Animal Science. This is an exciting opportunity to share your specialist knowledge and help shape the future of students pursuing careers within the animal, veterinary, research, and conservation sectors.
Working within our thriving Higher Education provision, you will deliver engaging and innovative teaching that combines scientific theory with practical application. You'll support students to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to progress into employment or further study, whilst contributing to the continued success and development of our Animal Science curriculum.
You will join a department renowned for its strong blend of academic excellence and hands-on learning, supported by an extensive animal collection, specialist laboratories and industry-standard facilities. Through high-quality teaching, assessment and student support, you'll play a vital role in preparing graduates for successful careers across the animal sector.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science or a related discipline.
- A strong scientific background in animal health and biological sciences.
- Experience within industry, research, teaching or a related professional environment.
- A passion for developing student talent and enhancing the learner experience.
- The ability to apply scientific principles to promote animal health, welfare and productivity.
Postgraduate qualifications and previous teaching experience are desirable but not essential.
