Full job description

Help run the finances of a not-for-profit that’s tackling fuel poverty and backing clean home-energy innovation.

Ebico is a small, friendly not-for-profit group based in Witney. We’ve spent over two decades working to make energy fairer and more affordable, and through our charity, the Ebico Trust, we fund early-stage businesses developing net-zero technologies for the home. Our long-standing bookkeeper is retiring, and we’re looking for a capable, self-sufficient replacement to keep our finances running smoothly.

The hours work around your life. This is a part-time role of roughly two days a week (about 15 hours). We’re happy to spread those hours across three days with school-run-friendly start and finish times - tell us what works for you. One day a week needs to be in our Witney office; the rest can be worked from home.

What you’d be doing

· Oversight of low-volume transactions across two trading companies and a charity in Sage 50 - supplier invoices, bank postings, journals and reconciliations

· Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns

· Running monthly payroll in Sage 50 Payroll, including pensions and HMRC submissions

· Producing monthly management accounts, cash-flow reports and the annual budget

· Handling statutory filings - Companies House confirmation statements, Charity Commission accounts and pension schedules

We’re looking for someone who

· Has solid bookkeeping experience and can work independently with minimal supervision

· Knows Sage 50 Accounts and ideally Sage 50 Payroll well

· Is confident in Excel (formulas, journals, reconciliations)

· Is comfortable with VAT, PAYE/RTI and month-end routines

· Is accurate, organised and trustworthy with confidential financial information

· AAT qualification (or qualified by experience) is welcome
