Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nursery Nurse/Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, management, and leadership within nursery settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the development and well-being of young children while leading a team of nursery staff within the 3-5 age group. The successful applicant will be committed to providing high-quality childcare, fostering a nurturing environment, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise nursery staff to ensure the delivery of high standards of care and education.
Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all curricular areas.
Monitor and assess children's progress and maintaining detailed records.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety policies.
Maintain compliance with all Care Inspectorate regulations and other relevant legislation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the nursery.

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood environment.
Strong management and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of Child Development, Curriculum for Excellence & Realising The Ambition.
Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., HNC, SCQF Level 7 or equivalent).
Passionate about early childhood education with a caring, patient, and proactive approach.

The Nursery is open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm for 50 weeks of the year excluding Bank Holiday Mondays and a 2 week period at Christmas, shifts will vary within these times.

Pay: £13.65 per hour
