Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Cafe Chef to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Cafe Chef will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for our customers while maintaining efficient kitchen workflows.

Duties

Lead and supervise the daily operations of the café kitchen, ensuring smooth service during busy periods
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
Manage food production processes, including portion control and presentation to optimise customer satisfaction
Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations and health & safety standards
Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and maintaining high levels of motivation and performance
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
Assist in menu planning and development to introduce innovative dishes that align with customer preferences

Requirements

Proven experience in a culinary or kitchen management role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced environment
Excellent team management abilities with the capacity to motivate staff and foster collaboration
Knowledge of food production techniques and restaurant operations
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential
A recognised culinary qualification or relevant industry experience is preferred
