Retail Assistant – Farm Shop

Location: Hurworth, Darlington
Contract: Zero Hours
Hours: Between 8am – 8pm

About Us

The Greedy Goat Farm Shop is all about organic produce, local suppliers, and great service. We’re building a welcoming space where customers love to shop and our team feels proud to be part of it.

We’re looking for reliable, friendly Retail Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the farm shop and Cafe. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and has a genuine love for good food.

The Role

As a Retail Assistant, you’ll be the face of the farm shop, helping to create a positive and enjoyable experience for every customer. You’ll work as part of a close-knit team, supporting busy periods, weekends, and seasonal trade as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Providing warm, friendly, and helpful customer service
Operating the till and handling payments accurately
Restocking shelves and maintaining attractive product displays
Keeping the shop clean, tidy, and well organised
Answering customer questions about products and suppliers
Supporting deliveries and stock rotation
Following food hygiene, health & safety, and company procedures

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Is friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Enjoys working as part of a team
Is reliable, punctual, and flexible with availability
Has good attention to detail
Can work calmly during busy periods
Retail or food experience is helpful but not essential — full training provided
