In this role, you won't just manage transactions - you will actively drive new business opportunities, build lasting client relationships , and guide the sales process from the very first enquiry straight through to successful project completion.
Working hand-in-hand with our internal estimating, design, production, and installation teams, you will ensure our clients receive expert advice and tailored modular solutions that perfectly match their operational and budgetary needs. Key Responsibilities
- Business growth & lead generation: Actively develop new business opportunities within the modular building, portable accommodation, and construction sectors. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify fresh paths for growth.
- Enquiry & pipeline management: Manage incoming sales enquiries from the very first contact through to contract award. Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and update customer records daily using the Company’s CRM system.
- Quotations & tenders: Prepare and present professional quotations, proposals, and tender submissions, working in close collaboration with the estimating team to secure new business.
- Client relationships & networking: Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients. Identify opportunities for repeat business, refurbishment projects, and long-term framework agreements.
- Site visits & consultations: Conduct site visits across the UK to assess specific customer requirements, deliver professional advice, and recommend suitable modular building solutions.
- Commercial negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms professionally and effectively within the established Company guidelines.
- Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with the estimating, design, production, and project teams to ensure customer expectations and technical requirements are fully achieved throughout project delivery.
- Brand promotion: Attend client meetings, exhibitions, networking events, and industry conferences to promote JCPSA and its services. Assist with marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and the preparation of case studies or project references.
- Reporting & strategy: Contribute to sales forecasting, budgeting, and business planning. Participate in management meetings and provide regular, transparent sales performance reports to the Managing Director.
- Safety, quality & values: Work safely in line with Company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems. Always represent the Company professionally, maintaining a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and ethical business conduct both on-site and on Company premises.
- Team support: Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business and undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Managing Director to help the team succeed.
Essential Requirements
· Proven experience in business development or technical sales within the modular buildings, portable accommodation, construction, off-site manufacturing or related industries
· Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
· Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand customer requirements and develop practical solutions
· Experience preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions
· Ability to build long-term customer relationships and manage key accounts
· Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
· Competent in Microsoft Office, CRM systems and digital sales tools
· Full UK Driving License
· Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
· HNC/HND or Degree in Construction, Business, Sales, Engineering or a related discipline
· Experience selling modular buildings, portable accommodation, steel-framed buildings or commercial construction solutions
· Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks and tendering procedures
· Membership of a recognised professional body within construction or sales
· Existing network of contacts within construction, education, healthcare, local authority or commercial sectors
