About the Role:

We are looking for a Director of Operations who can take ownership of our operational strategy and service delivery standards. You will lead core business functions, strengthen internal processes and ensure that teams consistently deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

You will work closely with senior leadership, department managers and external partners to translate business objectives into clear operational plans. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can balance strategic decision-making with practical execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy:

Develop and implement operational plans that support the company’s commercial objectives, service standards and long-term growth.

Business Performance:

Establish clear performance indicators, review departmental results and introduce improvements where targets are not being achieved.

Team Leadership:

Lead and support department managers, establish clear expectations and promote a culture of responsibility, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Process Improvement:

Review existing workflows, identify inefficiencies and implement practical systems that improve productivity, quality and consistency.

Resource Planning:

Oversee workforce planning, operational budgets, supplier requirements and the allocation of resources across key business functions.

Client Service Delivery:

Ensure that client commitments are delivered accurately, professionally and within agreed timelines. Address service issues before they affect long-term relationships.

Risk and Compliance:

Maintain appropriate operational controls, support regulatory compliance and ensure that business activities follow internal policies and applicable UK requirements.

Stakeholder Management:

Provide clear operational updates to senior leadership, clients and business partners. Present recommendations using reliable performance data and commercial reasoning.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:

At least 7 years of experience in operations, business services, programme delivery or corporate management, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership position.

Leadership:

Proven experience managing department heads, multidisciplinary teams or complex service operations.

Commercial Awareness:

A strong understanding of budgets, resource planning, service profitability and operational performance.

Process Management:

Demonstrated ability to improve workflows, establish measurable standards and manage organisational change.

Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior stakeholders, clients and external partners.

Technology:

Comfortable using business management systems, reporting tools, Microsoft 365 and operational performance dashboards.

Mindset:

You are decisive, organised and commercially practical. You can manage competing priorities, address operational problems calmly and maintain high standards during periods of change.

Pay: £85,000.00-£101,800.00 per year
