Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering and cooking, with some experience in a restaurant or food service environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the kitchen team in preparing ingredients, including chopping, peeling, and measuring
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
Help with the organisation and storage of ingredients and supplies
Follow food safety protocols at all times, including proper handling and storage of food items
Serve meals to staff or customers as directed by senior kitchen staff
Support catering events by setting up and clearing away serving areas
Ensure the kitchen area is tidy and organised at all times

Skills

Experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic culinary skills
Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under supervision in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
Basic serving skills for assisting with meal service during busy periods

This role is suitable for individuals passionate about food service and eager to gain further culinary experience. The position provides a supportive environment for developing essential skills in food preparation, safety, and customer service.

Pay: £12.21-£15.81 per hour
