Join One of the UK’s Leading Industrial Vacuum & ATEX Engineering Specialists
ATEX Premier Cleaning is a fast-growing specialist engineering company servicing, repairing and manufacturing industrial cleaning equipment for major UK clients across the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food production, aerospace and industrial sectors.
We are not a domestic vacuum repair shop. We engineer, rebuild and maintain industrial vacuum systems, ATEX-rated hazardous area equipment, steam cleaning machines, and bespoke high-level cleaning systems used in demanding environments nationwide.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Electro‑Mechanical Service Engineer who takes pride in doing the job properly—diagnosing faults accurately, repairing equipment to a high standard, and ensuring every machine leaves the workshop in first-class condition.
If you’re an engineer who enjoys stripping machines down, solving problems, and producing quality workmanship, this role is for you.
The Role
You will become a key member of our engineering department, responsible for servicing, repairing, diagnosing and preparing specialist industrial cleaning equipment used across our sales, hire and operational teams.
Typical Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on industrial vacuum systems
- Service and repair machines from brands including Nilfisk, Kerstar, Osprey
- Repair and maintain ATEX-rated vacuum systems (training provided)
- Service and repair commercial steam cleaning machines
- Replace motors, turbines, bearings, switches, wiring and electrical components
- Conduct PAT testing, safety checks and compliance inspections
- Test equipment before dispatch to ensure reliability and performance
- Maintain accurate service records, quality reports and machine documentation
- Assist with the manufacture and assembly of bespoke high-level pole kits and cleaning systems
- Support product testing, quality assurance and workshop improvements
- Uphold ATEX standards and contribute to continuous improvement
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment
Additional Internal & External Equipment
This role covers both client equipment and our own internal fleet, including:
- Cleaning team equipment
- Hire equipment
- Specialist ATEX and high-level cleaning systems
You must be comfortable managing a mixed workload of client repairs and in-house equipment servicing.
Deep Cleaning of Equipment
All serviced equipment must be deep cleaned before being returned to the client or placed back into our internal fleet. This is a mandatory part of the job, ensuring professional presentation and hygiene standards.
Workshop Organisation & Professionalism
We are a small business operating on a large scale, so organisation is essential. You will be expected to:
- Keep your workspace clean, tidy and professionally organised
- Prepare equipment methodically
- Maintain a structured workflow
- Contribute to a high-standard workshop environment
Workflow & Priorities
Your jobs will be organised and scheduled for you to reduce pressure and maintain efficiency. Occasionally, priorities may change due to operational demands, and we will communicate these clearly.
Engineering Progression & Scaling
We are looking for someone who can help take our engineering department to the next level as we continue to scale.
If you have proven experience in:
- Growing an engineering department
- Implementing systems
- Improving turnaround times
- Raising technical standards
- Scaling operations
…you are encouraged to put forward the salary you are seeking. If you pass initial screening, we will conduct management-level reference checks to verify your track record.
Occasional Client Site Visits
While most servicing is carried out in-house, you may occasionally be required to attend client sites for specialist servicing or inspections.

You’re someone who genuinely enjoys engineering and takes pride in doing things properly.
You’ll ideally have experience as a:

Why Join ATEX Premier Cleaning?
We’re a specialist engineering business—not a conveyor belt.
We value quality and speed, accurate diagnosis over guesswork, and engineers who take pride in producing reliable, professional workmanship. You’ll work with unique industrial equipment, develop specialist skills, and become part of a company that is growing rapidly and investing heavily in its engineering department.
While this role is primarily for an experienced Electro‑Mechanical Service Engineer, we also welcome applications from hands-on engineers with a proven track record of scaling engineering operations, even if their background is from a related industrial sector.
If you want a role where your engineering ability genuinely matters—and you want to build a long-term career with a respected specialist—this is the place for you.
