Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and meal preparation run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about the culinary arts, with an interest in food safety and catering. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a desire to learn and grow within the kitchen, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation and meal preparation under the guidance of chefs and kitchen staff.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen operations.
Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring everything is readily available for cooking.
Support cooking staff by preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables or marinating meats.
Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist with catering events as required, ensuring timely delivery of meals.
Follow all health and safety regulations within the kitchen.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not essential.
Basic culinary skills with a keen interest in cooking and food preparation.
Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other kitchen staff efficiently.

Shifts

Week One: Thursday and Friday, hours 7am to 2pm.
Week Two: Saturday and Sunday, hours 7am to 2 pm.
