If so, this could be a brilliant opportunity for you.

Drew Forsyth & Co is a family-owned manufacturer of luxury bespoke kitchens and furniture. We have been manufacturing furniture in West Yorkshire for nearly 60 years and supply customers throughout the UK.

We are a fast-growing business with big ambitions. There are already two companies within our group, and we expect that group to continue growing.

We are now looking for an exceptional person to work alongside our Managing Director and Operations Director, helping them focus on the most important areas of the business while making sure the details are properly taken care of.

The role

This is much more than a traditional Executive Assistant position.

There will be some normal executive support, but the larger part of the role is about coordinating people, customers, suppliers and information across a busy business.

You will become the central point that helps keep everything moving.

When an action is agreed, you will make sure it happens. When information needs to move between departments, you will make sure it reaches the right person. When a customer needs an update, you will make sure they receive one before they need to chase us.

The successful person will become a trusted facilitator to our Managing Director and Operations Director. You will have the backing of the directors and the confidence to hold people accountable for the things they have agreed to do.

What you will be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

Proactively keeping in touch with our live customers and making sure they always know what is happening with their project.
Delivering the high level of customer service expected by clients purchasing luxury, bespoke products.
Acting as a central link between customers, department heads, suppliers, delivery teams and teams working on site.
Making sure upcoming schedules, running orders, paperwork and supplier arrangements are ready when they need to be.
Coordinating delivery teams, outside suppliers, accommodation and other practical arrangements.
Keeping track of outstanding actions and making sure nothing is forgotten, delayed or allowed to slip between departments.
Taking ownership of customer complaints, making sure the right people are involved and continuing to follow them through until the matter is resolved.
Helping to prepare meetings, reports and weekly paperwork for the Managing Director and Operations Director.
Taking recurring operational tasks off the directors’ desks, including supplier enquiries, purchasing, company vehicles and other general business requirements.
Chasing suppliers, negotiating where appropriate and pushing for better prices, dates or solutions.
Helping the directors keep department heads informed, organised and accountable.
Using your commercial judgement to make sensible everyday decisions based on cost, time and customer impact.

This is not a passive administrative role, and it will not suit someone who waits to be given a list of instructions each morning.

We need someone who will take ownership, think ahead and make things happen.

The person we are looking for ;

Your previous job title is less important than the way you work.

You may currently be an experienced Executive Assistant, Operations Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Office Manager, Business Support Manager or working in another role that requires exceptional organisation and follow-through.

You do not need experience in construction , kitchens, furniture or manufacturing. We believe that someone with outstanding organisational and project-management ability can apply those skills to almost any industry.

However, this is not a first step into a senior role. We are looking for someone who already knows how to operate with confidence, manage competing priorities and take real ownership of their work.

You will need to be:

An exceptional organiser who naturally keeps track of people, promises, deadlines and details.
Warm, reassuring and highly professional with customers.
Confident and persistent when dealing with suppliers and chasing deadlines.
Commercially minded and able to weigh up cost, time and customer experience.
Comfortable moving quickly between very different tasks and priorities.
Adaptable rather than rigid—you will be working in a growing owner-managed business where things can change quickly.
A strong communicator who can work effectively with directors, department heads, customers, suppliers and site teams.
Comfortable managing upwards as well as influencing people throughout the wider business.
Someone who spots potential problems early and acts before they become bigger problems.
Confident using Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
Discreet and trustworthy when dealing with sensitive commercial and customer information.
In possession of a full UK driving licence.

Most importantly, you will have a strong sense of personal ownership. If something lands on your desk, you will want to see it properly finished—not simply pass it on and assume somebody else will deal with it.

Working hours and flexibility

This is a full-time position, but we can offer genuine flexibility around how the working day is arranged.

If you need to fit your family, for example, we are happy to work around that. Some working from home will also be available, although this cannot be a completely remote role. You will need to spend time on the ground with the team at our various sites.

We care more about the role being delivered brilliantly than somebody sitting at the same desk between rigid hours every day.

Equally, high-end customer service does not always fit perfectly between 9am and 5pm. We will not expect you to be permanently available or answering messages at 10pm, but this is a senior position and will occasionally require flexibility and good judgement outside conventional office hours.

Our selection process

Our initial selection process will include:

An introductory telephone conversation.
An in-person interview.
Some short online work-style and personality questionnaires.

The questionnaires are not about finding one “correct” personality. They will help us understand how each candidate naturally communicates, organises, makes decisions and responds when priorities change.
