Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Weekend Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, creating high-quality beverages, and maintaining a welcoming environment. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working during weekends and thrive in a fast-paced café setting. The position offers an opportunity to develop barista skills whilst working in a vibrant, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Make basic baguette/toasties to order, serve homemade pâtisserie

Hours 9am -5 pm Saturday

11 am - 3pm

Must be available for all hours

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, adhering to company standards.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and service.
Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent service to enhance their experience.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including counters, tables, and equipment, ensuring a tidy workspace at all times.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Skills

Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling.
Experience in serving customers efficiently with a friendly attitude.
Basic maths skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
Food preparation skills to assist with light food items if required.
Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively without compromising service quality.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills to keep the workspace clean and supplies well-stocked during busy weekends.
